Our scholarship program aims to solve targeted problems in specific communities by providing a comfortable learning environment for high-performing students facing financial challenges. We honor the lives of Carol, Ryan, Kelli, and Rubi while inspiring bright, focused, and hardworking young people to achieve their dreams.
Inspired changes through education
The Pauls Charitable Fund and this scholarship program were born from a profound personal story of love, loss, and the enduring power of education. Paul Njoroge, the managing director of our foundation, established this initiative in memory of his late wife, Caroline Nduta Quinns, and their children, who tragically lost their lives in the Ethiopian Airlines crash of March 2019.
Caroline was a beacon of inspiration in her community. In 2003, she became one of the first girls to achieve a grade A in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination in her small town of Kwa Amos, Engoshura Estate, Nakuru. Her success sparked a wave of change, encouraging more girls from her town and neighboring areas to pursue higher education.
Both Caroline and Paul were lifelong academic achievers. Caroline graduated from the University of Nairobi in 2009, while Paul was a top student in the university's Finance class of 2008. Their shared passion for education and community development led them to dream of giving back, particularly in supporting girls' education.
Caroline was deeply concerned about the bright girls from her elementary school who couldn't pursue secondary education due to financial constraints, often being forced into early marriages. This scholarship program is a realization of Caroline and Paul's shared vision to break this cycle and empower future generations through education.
Today, Paul continues their legacy through the Pauls Charitable Fund, honoring the memory of Caroline and their children - Ryan, Kelli, and Rubi. This scholarship is not just financial aid; it's a beacon of hope, a tribute to love, and a powerful force for positive change in our communities.
This scholarship program not only provides financial support but also creates a ripple effect of positive change in communities. By investing in education, we're empowering future leaders who will go on to make significant contributions to their societies and beyond.
